Disabilities and Disabilty Awareness Training

Our trainers have been delivering disability awareness training for nearly 20 years to corporate employers, public sector and not-for-profit organisations.

Our training can be tailored to individual needs and is highly interactive - delivered by experienced and skilled trainers in a workshop style to help participants learn and adopt principles of best practice. It provides a forum for discussion and includes our extensive experiences of working with people with disabilities.

Our courses can be delivered anywhere in the UK and outside of office hours on request.

Assistive Technologies

Assistive Technology (AT) is any product or service designed to enable independence for disabled and older people. (King's Fund consultation, 2001).

Technology advances at a rapidly changing rate and assistive technology is no different. At Renard Associates our assessors have extensive experience in assessing the technology, to see how it can help you, or your employees maintain or obtain independence.

Dyslexia

Ten percent (10%) of the British population are dyslexic; 4% severely so. Dyslexia is identified as a disability as defined in the Disability Discrimination Act 2005. Many of the dyslexic people across the UK, whether adults or children, are unable to fulfil their potential as a large percentage of the population still do not understand what dyslexia is, the difficulties which the condition presents and do not know how best to support them. Dyslexia is not an obvious difficulty; it is hidden. As a result, dyslexic people have to overcome numerous barriers to make a full contribution to society.(British Dyslexia Association 2009)
